CRUX says is a lightweight Linux distribution, seeing your scrot

cpu1 100%
cpu2 100%
cpu3 100%

ram usage 1gb mostly by firefox, while iceweasel use half of it. To me not look that light judging from the screenshots.

Re: November 2014 Screenshot Thread

Why bother buying multi-core processors if you never put load on them? It like purchasing comic books and never removing plastic cover. 4 x 100 % means they are useful for a split second.

edit: 4x, not 3x. But there's still lots of unused memory!

I saw and I thought this, however again I said 4 CPU 100% in use not seemed normal. but perhaps you're right compiling may eat that CPU. Or perhaps something else.

Have you checked out the selling price of mint vintage comics? Never breaking the seal of the plastic covers is:

haha_sm.png  No, not quite ... have no idea what -j5 is.  Is that a new plane?

@ Nili - They are "new emails" for the two accounts we have, I use conkyEmail in it's simplest form - # of new mails since last use of our email clients.  My wife (C:) uses icedove and I (S:) use claws-mail, (for Linux related mails).  The mails are deleted automatically from the ISP server when we get them.  We use to have 4, but lavabit going down killed off two.

And since they are there, the numbers above those are "currency exchange rates" grabbed from the net.

Also the Cockpit SR-71 is the desktop names to show what desktop I'm on.

Yep. That. tongue

Earlier, it was using about 2.5 gigs. Not sure what it hit when compiling Firefox. I was asleep.

It's worth it, I'd say. Might want to grab a newer kernel for the install, but I dig the delightful minimalism. And between all the user contributed repos, I've been able to get all the ports I need.

And much faster to get running than Gentoo, since the x server and some other things are included in the installer (as binaries).

If I'm not mistaken, Crux is the "grand-daddy" of Arch -- the original Arch release was based on Crux and both distro's follow the same paradigms.

Not based on. It got inspiration from Crux.
