Yes, that is what you think it is. It's just an experiment though, so I'll see where this ends up.

Argh, out of everybody I should've known you would reply ]:D It's a modified desktop-shell that enables tiling for the Weston compositor.

So what part of "I'm a noob" didn't you believe? I'm going to hit the search engines to find out what "the Weston compositor" is.
Don't tell me and ruin all my fun.
Anyway ... I'm dragging this Off Topic

Exactly what we need, a port of DWM to Wayland!
Not sure if sarcasm, or... I'll just assume it isn't: I'm so far only mimicking DWM's layouts (of which only the normal tile layout is available currently, neither is mfact or nmaster.). I also don't plan on going as lightweight as DWM does (this time I actually want to adhere to XDG standards as to avoid corner cases in which applications don't behave properly) and I'll just have to see if and how I'm going to replace the virtual desktops with tags.
EDIT: If you want to see Suckless' take at Wayland (unofficial, AFAIK), take a look at swc, velox, dmenu on wayland, st on wayland and wld.

You're far less of a noob than you consider yourself to be I did not mean to insult you, I apologise if I did. Have your searches come up with a satisfying answer yet?

You did not insult me at all .. in fact "Argh, out of everybody I should've known you would reply" brought a Cheshire Cat type smile here. <-- he doesn't allow busy!
And yes, some Wayland/Weston combo - although not fully up with it I have a much better idea.
I have not clicked on your links up there yet either.
Wayland (display server protocol) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
is the first link when searching: Weston composite manager
