a migrating Bodhist

Tally ho!
This is my first post on these forums and I must really say how very glad I am to... post it.
I have been a linux user since I was 14, when, in a childlishly adolescent rebellion, I overthrew the Windows tyranny as imposed by my father, a Microsoft employee. :p
Since then, I found the utility of linux in all the means, not only as a "revolt technique". I was a distrohopper for a long time, always curiously abandoning #!, and I eventually settled with Bodhi Linux for some two years already. But the old 2.4.0. grew dull and using it grew tedious and the new version is still very far from release. So I started browsing different flavours again... and I encountered #!
I have been using it for two months now and I cannot describe just how happy I am with it. Everything is so smooth, simple, minimal and beautifully grey! I came to utterly adore it and I believe that I can now say vale even to my dear Bodhi.
I read plenty of posts already and found solutions for many problems, but you can still expect me to ask some silly and stupid questions. :)
The local community seems just wonderful and it would be my pleasure if I were to be accepted as its member.

As for actual introductions; I am an avid reader and debater, I love history, philosophy and classical music (especially Rimsky-Korsakov). And I cannot wait to get to know you all!

I read the title as "a migrating Buddhist", and expected another spam bot...  ]:D  8o

Rimsky-Korsakov

Nice to see I'm not the only classical fan here.

Re: a migrating Bodhist

@both
thank you!

@damo
refreshingly easier. :-D And so is the distro.

@Alad
the thread was named like that, only afterwards I realized what effect could the name have. lol
A forum with a classical music lover must be a good forum.

It's the other way around here - the kids say "Dad's going on about linux again". At least I've got them off m$ and they have Macs (though that is more of a style thing big_smile). They know now that any further expense on software they can pay for themselves ]:D
