Re: 2014 - Brasil - FIFA World Cup

I think the speed of Chara's slapshot went up to 108 mph during the last ALL Star Game's skill's competition. Even Shea Weber cracked 106 mph. Bobby Hull consistently had the hardest shot in hockey. Nobody nowadays comes close to his puck speed. It's remarkable that his brother Dennis also had a 100 mph + shot.

His son Brett had an incredible slapshot as well.

@gutterslob - nice to see you're still around.

Well, since it's gone ... go ahead report it. lol

I deleted it because of the link (kept a copy of the post), chillicampari did a search and found it was indeed spam ... on various forums ... so the user is banned.

Thanks for your input though, it's what got me going on it.

Re: 2014 - Brasil - FIFA World Cup

OK. Now is I think is the time for a truth. I feel like ( or want to believe) people who choose Linux they don't do it just because it's free and are people who care about the world, each other and generally involve themselves when they see something that is not right.

I'll leave aside for now, that FIFA World Cup is just a sick party for patriots/nationalists who in some metaphysical way feel supremacy and pride about a particular continent on the Earth. Let's look the facts first, the news.

So in Brazil in order for them to build a parking lot for "your" World Cup entertainment, people in Mangueira of Rio they don't have a home anymore.  http://revolution-news.com/brazil-fifa- … ity-rages/
Oh,and also are beaten to almost death. The pictures speak for themselves I think.... [ Huge content on that link to understand better what I am trying to say here ]

People get killed and tortured by the police to "clean" the favelas. ( that's not new in these parts of Brazil, but with WC , they quickly got around it and "cleaned" in no time ) http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article … -town.html

Now I can post about 100 links to reports and dozens of videos and pictures that show the brutality from the Brazilian government and their loyal dogs but I won't. Hopefully these will get you interested and research the matter more.

It's a shame. A shame to Humanity. And FIFA can advertise anti-racism and respect all they want, but they know and they don't care.

Re: 2014 - Brasil - FIFA World Cup

Welcome to the forums NoSimulation. As you mentioned yourself, we are a Linux forum. Your post is going dangerously towards political matters, which we do not discuss here as they tend to stirr the pot and we will never agree with eachother completely.

Political discussions belong elsewhere. Let's just discuss the games, cheer for our national teams and yell at referees who obviously should have done something different  cool

Then the Croatia goal that wasn't .. it was clear it was a 'head shot' ... bit NOOOOOOO!!!!

On TV here Argentinian reporters were talking with Brazilians that said "there was no foul", "there should not have been a penalty shot."

My best is the game should have been Croatia 2 - Brazil 1 and at worst Croatia 2 - Brazil 2 because if they hadn't stolen that second goal via a rigged penalty shot ... they may not have made that third and final goal.

Argentina (from the TV here) is NOT happy with the Japanese Referee, Yuichi Nishimura.

From Nairaland:

@JeffreyPaulKing: And now the final score for today's World Cup opening game: Croatia - 1, Brazil - 1, Japanese Referee - 2.

My comment:  Priceless!  lol  lol  lol  lol

Dear Fred,

The World Diving Championships are next year!

Dear Ref,

Should've gone to Specsavers (or what are you going to spend the extra money on?  ]:D )

I thought Croatia played the Brazilians well and looked more effective on the counter than Brazil, and often showed more skill on the ball. 2-2 would have been an appropriate scoreline. If England (could ever play!) played the way Croatia played last night, I would be happy.

I agree - Croatia - for me - should have won!

And Mexico should have had 2 more goals ... really BAD calls those.

And today's Player of the day Holland's: 11 Arjen ROBBEN  OH YEA! - what a payer!
