Re: Completely Off Topic Chat

Windows pre-installed is ok if you like that kind of thing. But Windows reinstalled has always sucked for me (unresolvable font smoothing issues i.e. bearable in the UI and Firefox but unuseable in Word, drivers etc.). OEM drivers from their site don't help either. And this on three different machines (Sony, Dell, Lenovo). Is there some special voodoo?

Isn't misanthropy the correct word, from a Greek point of view? That it now means something broader doesn't change the fact that anthropos means man.

Re: Completely Off Topic Chat

The Chaos Communication Camp 2015 is happening! A lot of interesting English-language talks too this year; check out the streaming and recording site: https://media.ccc.de/browse/conferences/camp2015/ & https://streaming.media.ccc.de/.

My recommendations so far: https://media.ccc.de/browse/conferences … tacks.html & https://media.ccc.de/browse/conferences … cibly.html.

At the rate these stupid courtroom gender-wars are going, it's only a matter of time before someone sues his/her partner for leaving the toilet seat up/down.... or has that already happened somewhere?

Lovely. And Visual Studio offers code introspection so it's just a matter of time til some hacker figures it all out.

Didn't you know that the new kernel has a software CPU built in, and gets its power from the static electricity in the air! It only requires pico watts to run.

Jeez! Well, if you must know, the power on button is 1 inch in diameter and made of beige plastic.

Meh. We need a kernel that runs on hot air and comb-overs.
