What, you don't want to pay $700 for two pieces of chipboard and some L brackets?
You have that wrong, it's the "curved ends" that cost $335 each. That's what pvsage isn't going for - and I don't blame him!
pvsage has a Mac?

^ The promotional photos show an iScreen (or whatever the fsck Steve decided to call his newer monitors).
The real giveaway that the posted pic wasn't someone's "actual desktop" was the complete absence of cables or any other clutter.

Why, haven't you ever drilled a hole in the wall to pull the power chord to your neighbour's AC socket?

^ Well, behind my desktop is a wall, so that part works, but on the other side of that wall - my bedroom.
Bummer!

@nore: I actually have considered the fauxcadeomy (faux facade sodomy) approach of a panel between the back of the desk and the wall behind it to hide cords. Never stolen power from a neighbor though.
I suppose it's possible that the monitor has a small ARM device mounted to its back with a wireless connection to the keyboard and mouse. Dose power cables doe - no way to hide 'em or explain away their absence.

Colored zip ties or even twist ties would be cheaper than velcro straps.

It's a little hard to see in this picture, but the monitor stand was the greatest purchase for productivity... my keyboard slides right under it and I have ample desk space for other work.
一期一会 Let it be good.

Alright, as promised, the little one's desktop(maple field with golden oak trim and wrap):
I only got a few with it uncluttered:
Then, it was put to use quickly:
And with that, one more room is wrapped up. Two more to go

Clean work, schwim, as always. You have both eye and hand for woodwork. Nice spot for a desk, too.

Indeed, cool spot for a desk and nicely made!

@ schwim
Excellent. Do you by chance do this for a living? If not you should.

I used to. But let me point out that getting round to making things for yourself is usually low on the to-do list! You can spot the craftsman's house because of all the unfinished parts

That's the same cat. she's just not being favoured by the lighting and the cellphone cam.

i finally got myself a writing desk - and a netbook (i'm about 5 years late to the party, but it's just so much better than a tablet - esp. with mobile broadband built in):

Nice work space ohnonot. I really prefer black office furniture, it reflects less ambient light and cuts down the glare. Is the netbook an Aspire D250? Looks like the one I got not long ago. I love it!
Peace

^ the desk is not so deep, very space efficient with the extractable keyboard tray. that's why i needed to have it. and black with scuffed edges looks pretty cool actually.
the netbook is acer aspire one zg5, with a real hard drive. i finished installing & tweaking arch linux, now i can do everything on it. plus it was dead cheap and looks like new, white, mother-of-pearl finish. make the girls jealous with their silly iphones.

Ohnonot:Are table legs shortened by perspective in your photo, or is the table actually low (below 60 cm/24 inch)? Do you sit on the soft stool or is it for feet?
Does anyone of you sit on a fitness ball while clicking your keyboards?
