Re: My tint2 config

I took Hanna's config back on pg 1 and made some modifications to get it the way I like. The color is what fits with my system and is less transparent so lighter backgrounds dont ruin tint2's visability. I also added the system tray, which I find valuable.

Here's the code:

Re: My tint2 config

I don't like to have my (main) Tint2 panel in multi_desktop mode. But I like to use two desktops. I don't like the fact that on my laptop, I have to press both touchpad buttons at once to view what's going on on the other desktop and to switch between them. I guess I could add a desktops pipe menu to the OB menu, but I decided otherwise: to have two Tint2 panels instead of one, of which one is in single_desktop and the other in multi_desktop mode:

tin2start.sh script for launching both top and bottom panel at once and to kill them, too – makes it easier to configure them:

#!/bin/sh

# start / stop Tint2

if pidof tint2 | grep [0-9] > /dev/null
then
 exec killall tint2
else
sleep 1
tint2 -c /home/piraja/.config/tint2/tint2rc2 &
sleep 1
tint2 -c /home/piraja/.config/tint2/tint2rc3 &
 exit
fi

tint2start.sh added in autostart.sh:

# Launch multiple Tint2 panels
(sleep 2s && tint2start.sh) &

P.S. A question: How do I split the multi_desktop panel into two taskbars, as in the present #! default tint2rc? Hmm... I guess I'll have to take another look at the default tint2rc to figure that out... (Later:) Ah, I see: taskbar_background_id = 1 (I shall have to do some more configuring with that now...) P.P.S. Re: My tint2 config

The opacity of the white borders is set to 0. Set it to 100 or 255.

Re: My tint2 config

Here is mine.  It's a work in progress.  I'm working between karmic and crunchbang.  The only thing I can't seem to figure out is multi_desktop and why its not working for me.  I essentially have the same code as used in the default crunchbang tint2rc. My theory is that it is set to multi_desktop but it thinks there is only one workspace.  There is in fact two.

Re: My tint2 config

number of desktops/workspaces is likely controlled by the window manager.

does the default ubuntu desktop pager show you have two?
and do you only get one in crunchbang too?

all the best.

Re: My tint2 config

When I've tried to do-release-upgrade from #! 9.04 to 9.10, Openbox would "forget" it has more than one workspace until I opened obconf and changed the number of workspaces; something similar might be going on in Metacity.
