Hello everyone!
I just installed #! on my Acer TravelMate5742 and had some problems with the screen brightness adjustment keys.
After some search i found a fix which might work for multiple Acer laptops and i wanted to share with you.
First you have to open the file /etc/default/grub with a texteditor of your choice and sudo rights.
sudo nano /etc/default/grub
In the file you change the value of GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX like this:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="quiet splash acpi_osi=Linux acpi_backlight=vendor"
now write the file via ctrl+o and exit nano via ctrl+x.
You only have to update grub with sudo rights
sudo update-grub
and reboot. After that and your screen brightness keys should work fine.
If you have any suggestions or further questions, don't hesitate to post below or write me a pm.

Thanks. Works with Samsung N150P too. Now I just have to work out why power manager isn't saving my settings.
