Re: October 2013 Screenshot Thread

@jmad2011:  Without the acronym, that almost sounds like it's related to the NSA (EDIT: or DHS); surely an honest enough mistake for someone who never had more than a passing interest in comic books.  Kinda like you wouldn't have recognized the Alicorn Amulet in CSCoder4ever's screenshot earlier in this thread if you aren't into ponies. tongue

@dgz:  Tasteful as always!  Is that FlatStudio?  Also, I think I've seen that wall in your upper screenshot before...is that from a MeKennitt album?

the upper one looks pretty much exactly like any from five months ago except the terminal colours and window manager, it's lazy. it's 'the lady of shallott' by john william waterhouse, and it is flatstudio.

here's another with compton working:

edit- were you thinking of this? i like it alot.

@dgz:  I suppose I could have been thinking of any of McKennitt's album covers.  Gotta be the cheekbones; I'd forgotten she has bangs. roll  (EDIT:  Oh. My. GOD, I didn't even intend that horrendous pun! :8 )

Thanks OK100 - I wondered why I liked it so much, and of course it is my normal terminal font too, just a different size !

@fog i totally love your blog. you post some of the most pleasing & artful desktop screenshots. does dzen2 automatically alternate the colors for text or must a user specify colors individually? (those are a lot of colors but all seem to be a palette)

Thank you. You make me blush. smile
You must change or specify the colors yourself.
Dzen2 alternates the colors in some cases (eg. battery full, green icon, almost empty, orange etc.)
But you must specify the colors.
Usually i use my color scheme/.xdefaults pallete. You're right smile

Re: October 2013 Screenshot Thread

Did some heavy experimentation with conky last night! Here are the results...
2013_10_12_182051_1024x600_scrot.png2013_10_12_184827_1024x600_scrot.png2013_10_12_184907_1024x600_scrot.png
I don't know whether I should keep the horizontal layout or revert to the vertical one I was using... I just have so little screen real estate every pixel counts!

GTK2/3 + Openbox theme is Numix Blue
Thunar is version 1.6.2
Pokemon is red big_smile (Mednafen)

1) what terminal are you using?

that's urxvt

2) also, i see it has no menu bar. is that how its default config or have you removed the window decoration via openbox files?

it's not openbox. I switched the WM from openbox to dwm. dwm doesn't have that menu, I either use dmenu or keyboard bindings.
