I meant, not editing the screenfetch code. I'll edit and correct that.

As for the rest, I'm using screenfetch-dev as well. Version 3.0.5 from the git to be exact.

Below is the relevant bit of code

elif [[ "${distro_detect}" == "Debian" ]]; then
                if [[ -f /etc/crunchbang-lsb-release || -f /etc/lsb-release-crunchbang ]]; then
                    distro="CrunchBang"
                    distro_release=$(awk -F'=' '/^DISTRIB_RELEASE=/ {print $2}' /etc/lsb-release-crunchbang)
                    distro_codename=$(awk -F'=' '/^DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION=/ {print $2}' /etc/lsb-release-crunchbang)
                else
                    distro="Debian"
                fi

EDIT: The CHANGELOG mentions that there was a change to CrunchBang detection in 2.7.7. All subsequent versions should work if lsb-release-crunchbang or crunchbang-lsb-release are edited.

I edited the screenfetch-code too, to show it`s Animal:

elif [[ "${distro_detect}" == "Debian" ]]; then
				if [[ -f /etc/crunchbang-lsb-release || -f /etc/lsb-release-crunchbang ]]; then
					distro="CrunchBang"
					if [[ "${distro_release}" == "unstable" ]]; then
						distro_release="ANIMAL"
					else
						distro_release="${distro_release}"
					fi
				else
					distro="Debian"
				fi

this way i don`t need to manipulate system-files on every new install, but can just take my old screenfetch with me (which i do anyways)

Re: Crunchbang ANIMAL? #! (Crunchbang Sid).

Sensible is subjective. Sid is a rolling release, there really shouldn't be any need to keep installing it unless you get a large number of computers. I'd rather be able to update screenfetch, personally.

There really isn`t any need to update Screenfetch as long as it displays whatever you want it to display.

that`s how i see it too.. and since i am learning and trying new things daily, there IS a reason to keep installing it over and over again  wink

Re: Crunchbang ANIMAL? #! (Crunchbang Sid).

@ew - Perhaps for you, again it is subjective.

@Naik - Breaking stuff teaches you a little, fixing it without reinstalling teaches you a LOT more.

LOL NICE!  I was at my local goodwill store and found a animal t-shirt of him being a dj, it was neon green though....yuck.  But made me think of #! Animal.

@annoyingbeggar: You are right! and most of the time i'm able to clean the mess i made but some times there is no other way than to burn the house and build a new one.
