spectrwm (used to be scrotwm) is a good place to start with tilers -- it's in the repo, it has a fairly sane default configuration and good documentation, and its configuration can be easily changed by modifying its run-time config file.

Yea how could I forget about the 30WM thread tongue And I agree spectrwm is a good place to start, it's the first tiler I used.

Re: July 2013 Screenshot Thread

^ Scrot/Spectr/BallsackWM was where I ended up at after trying out of more feature-rich tilers, ironically.

I reckon i3 would a better tiler to start with.
It's also configured in human-readable syntax and also comes with a few more features - systray and tabbed mode being the main lure for most people.

Re: July 2013 Screenshot Thread

^ True and good points. I didn't get into i3 because I've always used dynamic tilers and prefer that behavior. i3's systray is a nice feature, and was a lure for me also. I spent a couple days banging my head on the keyboard trying to get DWM's systray patch to work with all the other patches I wanted. Maybe I'll give i3 another spin, if I can get a scratchpad working it may be perfect for my netbook.

Hi all

Actually, this is my first post in any screenshot thread, if I recall correctly.

After getting rid of all most of the bloat.

This is on a freshly installed waldorf, with minor modifications to the openbox config.
Checking whether installing the kernel headers manually creates the symlink necessary to compile kernel modules.

One of these days I might show you my working setup.

"blue" would be nice, but they don't publish those on international exchange houses.

Why three? because I have 3  cool
