[SOLVED] CLI Companion

Did anyone succeeded to install CLI Companion? I searched all over the forum, but found nothing.
It's a app I used a lot when I was still with Ubuntu and still find it useful.

I used:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:clicompanion-devs/clicompanion-nightlies

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install clicompanion

As displayed in Launchpad, but gave me an error.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance. big_smile

Re: [SOLVED] CLI Companion

Adding a ppa to debian sources is asking for destruction

Download the deb from here and use gdebi to install it.  gdebi will report what you need in dependencies

#1 yes you made the mistake of considering debian ubuntu
and you tried to add a ppa to debian's sources.list
all the PPAs i have ever seen are designed to work with ubuntu they are simply not compatible with debian.
the reson for this is that ubuntu these days has a much different structure underneath , it is no longer a "debian based system"
its now just a "debian derived/like system" thus any software written for ubuntu specifically is not guaranteed to work on debian .

sometimes all you need is to face the worst fear you have and to overcome it.
