Hey, all --
LinuxQuestions.org has just opened its 2012 LinuxQuestions.org Members Choice Awards, and guess who has ballot status in the Desktop Distribution of the Year category?
Yep, CrunchBang.
Needless to say that we're up against some pretty big names -- Debian, Fedora, OpenSUSE, that distribution with too many U's -- but it would be nice to make a good showing when all the votes are counted.
Voting closes Feb. 4, and you have to login to vote (if you don't have a login, you can register). Here's the link:

Also, Openbox is a candidate in the Window Manager of the Year as well.

ZOMG, they are going to have sooo many new single-post members! (I know that's the only reason I registered and posted an intro...)

That may be, pvsage. When I was younger -- OK, when I started with Linux -- I used to go to LinuxQuestions.com all the time to ask questions and get/find answers. Interestingly, I don't go very often since using CrunchBang because now I find most of the answers here.

I just did exactly that. Voted CrunchBang and Openbox and a few other random polls. Even so though, I may just peruse there once in awhile now that I have an account...

When I was pure Debian, I used Debian Forum & LinuxQuestions Debian sub forum, & I got most info from LQ-debian.
(I still visit occassionally & go through the unanswered questions mainly, just as a good netizen.)

Before I started to rely on this forum for all things Linux (as I don't distro-hop), LQ search results via our most-hated web search engine were my go-to for learning how to do stuff in the command line. Never registered until now though.

You have to make at least one post before you can vote.

Edit: Nah, I'm too slow. Was reading in another Tab and forgot to hit the Submit button. 8o
You need 1 post before you can vote. Just write "voted for CrunchBang" or so in the Thread and after that you should be able to vote.

^ Yep me to
I was surprised on how many of the polls had entries I have never heard of. Wish they all had links to look them up.
I have been tracking some of them down and trying them out. I Just got done downloading calligra.
