Thunar. Used to use Double Commander a lot, too, but Thunar just does the job.

To both of you: why do you use two CLI file managers?

coreutils, then ranger

@Unia
MC works better (for me) for moving files about, which I do a lot of. Ranger I mainly use in corporation with a text editor (Vim) for editing or for reading books/pdfs with whatever app it's configured to launch those file types with. I could live easily with just one, but they're CLI after all, not much bloat.
Edit:
Tbh, I think I use the plain ol' command-line (coreutils) more often than any of the file managers these days.

Thanks gutter, I understand. For me personally though, Ranger is the only app using python3 so ...

Got Thunar installed on my Crunchbang currently, and it's my fave file manager too.

It's the other way round for me. I used to rely on thunar, but then I stopped using a graphical interface at all. After a while I had some things to do that would involve senseless scripting with coreutils, so I was looking for a good graphical midnight/total commander replacement. I used Freecommander on Windows at work almost exclusively (and still do on my gaming box), so doublecmd (Double Commander) came very close to what I wanted. I still use coreutils 90% of the time, but sometimes, when I don't really know what I am looking for, it's doublecmd.
EDIT: Yes, ranger… it's very popular amon the Arch crowd, maybe because it's a) vim-ish and b) made by an Arch user (or at least it seems to be like that). I must say that this is by far the most interesting file manager for hierarchical folder structures I have ever seen.

mc - for 99% of the time
thunar - for the limited time that seeing thumbnails of jpg files is useful, and for mounting/un-mounting usb drives.
(tried ranger, but didn't like it. Seemed the text jumped around far far too much. If the next entry is completely on screen, the text should not scroll. Scroll only if you need to go somewhere not visible on screen.)
Still looking for the perfect file manager, one with an unencumbered command prompt, but where you can refer to the selected file(s) in the file manager panel. mc is close, but it steals too many keystrokes away from the command prompt.

As I distro hop and Desktop environment hop my FM seems to depend on where I am working...
Many times I will in a Browser Tab just ... file:///dir
When doing Xfce thunar/pcmanfm
I also like using (OpenBox) CLI and VFU. The latter nice for rat poison.

Thunar, but I'll probably change my mind and try something new soon. I get bored easily
