Re: Conky weather+moon scripts (Accuw/WUndergr/NWS/MoonGiant)

ah, I've missed this ... sorry.

This is way over my head, I'm not a coder.  But you still need to run the (bash).sh script to get the information.
How you run it, cli, cron, conky, doesn't really make a difference does it?

Re: Conky weather+moon scripts (Accuw/WUndergr/NWS/MoonGiant)

Bug in the .conkyrc's of the 2b script - they won't work as they are.
Stay tuned.

Re: Conky weather+moon scripts (Accuw/WUndergr/NWS/MoonGiant)

In the latest update of the 2b script, I named the script "2b" (yes, I have a great imagination).
The conkyrc's bundled with the script call a script named "wunder"; there's no such script and conky fails miserably to load any data.

Re: Conky weather+moon scripts (Accuw/WUndergr/NWS/MoonGiant)

So I was the one who was having trouble with the 2b_Wunderground_API script.  Complete log is here:  http://pastebin.com/Y7nAzNb8

I was trying to run conky with "conky -c /home/me/2b_Wunderground_API/.conkyrc4"

Was there another set of files I was supposed to download?

Re: Conky weather+moon scripts (Accuw/WUndergr/NWS/MoonGiant)

Change this line

TEXT
${execi 600 bash $HOME/2b_Wunderground_API/wunder}\

to

TEXT
${execi 600 bash $HOME/2b_Wunderground_API/2b}\

Alternatively, rename the file called 2b (the actual script) to wunder.

Thanks for your feedback garpu. I'm waiting for S11's test of the .conkyrc2 (the lua one-I don't have lua installed) and I'll update the scripts.

Re: Conky weather+moon scripts (Accuw/WUndergr/NWS/MoonGiant)

OK, my OOPS!

2b works just fine .. old "wunder" doesn't.
2015_03_14_17_13_23_1920x1080_Sector11.jpg

BTW, you can remove the "lua" if you want.

Above TEXT comment out this line:

#lua_load /media/5/Conky/LUA/draw-bg.lua

and remove this below TEXT:

${lua conky_draw_bg 10 0 0 0 0 0x000000 0.45}

don't comment that out - remove it.
2015_03_14_17_19_58_1920x1080_Sector11.jpg
It's only the shading background anyway.

Now using "2b" OOTB ... smile

Re: Conky weather+moon scripts (Accuw/WUndergr/NWS/MoonGiant)

The oops is all mine: the conkyrcs used to work, I went and renamed the script to 2b in the latest update without imagining that it would break the conkyrc files.

The .conkyrc2 lacked a line that called the execution of the script from the beginning; is this version acceptable?

Re: Conky weather+moon scripts (Accuw/WUndergr/NWS/MoonGiant)

Teo, since you don't have lua and you commented out the top part:

#lua_load /media/5/Conky/LUA/draw-bg.lua

Change this:

TEXT
${lua conky_draw_bg 10 0 0 0 0 0x000000 0.45}\
${execi 600 bash $HOME/2b_Wunderground_API/2b}

to this:

TEXT
${execi 600 bash $HOME/2b_Wunderground_API/2b}

and you are good to go (with the "2b" script).

Living proof - a few minutes ago:

Spoke too soon.  Uncommented "temperature_unit Fahrenheight," but it still defaults to C.  big_smile  I don't see where temperature_unit's being called?

Re: Conky weather+moon scripts (Accuw/WUndergr/NWS/MoonGiant)

I really should revisit those and configure them with a more commonly used mono font.

@ garpu & teo

What "mono" font do you use most - or at least in your conkys?

Re: Conky weather+moon scripts (Accuw/WUndergr/NWS/MoonGiant)

ANNOUNCEMENT
The conkyrc files of the 2b script didn't work, as I have renamed the script in the 29-1-15 update. Naming in files corrected-script rebundled. Thanks to garpu for the sharp eye!.

Re: Conky weather+moon scripts (Accuw/WUndergr/NWS/MoonGiant)

I use Fantasque Sans Mono as my mono font, but I don't use it in conky.

@garpu: I'll check it right now.

Re: Conky weather+moon scripts (Accuw/WUndergr/NWS/MoonGiant)

Only mention of temperature I"m finding in 2b is in line 149:

sed -i '/current_observation\|image":\|logo_\|title":\|link":\|^[ \t]*},$\|^[ \t]*}$\|temperature_string\|forecast_url\|history_url\|ob_url\|satellite":/d' $HOME/2b_Wunderground_API/Conditions

Changing it to "temp_f" (from the API) still results in Celsius.  I'm not seeing another instance of "temperature_unit" called in the rc file, either.  After the winter we've had, it's pretty depressing seeing the temperature as "4." smile

Re: Conky weather+moon scripts (Accuw/WUndergr/NWS/MoonGiant)

Doesn't the temp in F or C come from how you configure the .json file at wunderground?

Fantasque Sans Mono must check that out.  Not everyone like my monofur ... I do, very easy for "old" eyes.  big_smile

EDIT:  You're more than welcome - it's my pleasure.

Right. You don't have to uncomment anything.
If you look at the 2b_Output_of_the_script.pdf file (inside the 2b_README-INFO folder), you will see that the forecast info is in both the imperial and the metric system. You just have to change the line calls in your conkyrc so that the right info is displayed.

Which conkyrc are you using? 1, 2, 3 or 4?

@S11: Check it out, its quite pleasing
