slow wireless

Hello, I just re-installed cruchbang on my hp dv9000 laptop yesterday. Had cruchbang working great a while back. when I went through the post install setup( hello screen in terminal) I ran the kernel upgrade part of it. Now my wireless is very slow. It worked great before, I suspect it had something to do with the kernel upgrade. I believe that last time I skipped the kernel upgrade. Is there a way to load the old kernel? If not, all I have on here is a conky config and chorme browser, so a reload would be fine to do if that is what it takes. Thanks, Bryan

Re: slow wireless

The old kernel should still be available for selection on the grub menu, moved down 2 places.
post output of

lspci -knn
lsusb

to see the wireless HW you are using.

Re: slow wireless

I think that I might have gotten it. I did a little more searching and found this post

You might try:

sudo update-initramfs -u
It should update the system so that it will not load the b43 modules when the system starts up.

Re: slow wireless

I guess my fix did not work! Upon reading my last post I saw that I was still using the b43-pci-bridge kernel driver. This is all new to me, so thanks for giving me the commands to type. I am just learning linux (and getting better) and know none of the commands yet.
