You are welcome.

Your button setup really sets the whole launcher off. Looks great.

Now to figure out what to do with the system monitor big_smile

how do you feel about steam-punk?
those brass icons make me think of that when i see them

i want this keyboard!... $1100-1400 USD
http://www.datamancer.net/keyboards/von … ginal1.jpg

I keep seeing those steampunky brass/bronze keyboards; I think the one at the right of the pic was in Warehouse 13.  I drolled after one for a while, but surely it shouldn't be too difficult to take any old AT keyboard and give it a Steampunk facelift.  Would take quite a bit of time...clearly why those are so spendy...but it wouldn't be too difficult to DIY.

The typewriter buttons on the keyboard are really cool looking.. I have a 3yr and 4yr old running around so I couldn't have something that spendy sitting around big_smile

I used to have one of these back in the day when I played MechWarrior online

Re: interactive conky

i only did apps in the stone
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/19008369/intera … ons.tar.gz

and mimetypes in the wood
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/19008369/intera … ons.tar.gz

im thinking harder on making them into an actual icon theme

get an existing theme as you said and replace the icons with these
i would need to resize them all several times to do it, but that shouldnt be too hard...

the problem that i see with the steam punk style is that the success is in the details and finish
and to get that right you have to put in the time and money as you said

although super super cool when it does look right big_smile

Haha.. I saw that you used a script to recreate the stone, brass and wood backgrounds for the icons (I always do things the hard way.. cause I never think of the "genius" way until later) I would imagine that a script to resize the icons in bulk would be possible. big_smile

and thank you for the icons. smile

Re: interactive conky

WOW PEACHY really cool that you have been inspired to open up gimp and be creative!!

Ok Peachy..
Make an all white copy of your gear.. and put it on an all black background.
then go to filters/blur/Guassian blur.. with 5 as a setting for both.
now take your fuzzy select tool and select anywhere outside the white blurred gear..
Go up to select/invert.
Now with the selection still on make a new layer and fill it with the color that you want your gear to be.
then go up to select/none.

The cool part..
Making sure that you are on your new gear layer go to filters/map/bump map.
In the Bump map box at the top select the black and white layer that you created.
Leave all the settings as is except
Azimuth which is lighting angle.. 90.00
Elevation: 37.00 to allow more depth without getting to grainy
and depth: 4-6 would be a good setting.
then just hit ok..

hope that was understandable

Re: interactive conky

We could bevel the inner circles also.. and add some pits to the gear and give it a little age.

As I just said to a friend:

Have you been watching the absolute magic between mrpeachy and falldown.
Unbelievable those two... I feel lost! big_smile

I feel I'm in the presence of two Masters.
And I say that with all respect and sincerity!
