Re: Conky v1.9 Thread

Thanks guys ... but no not that, what I am talking about is a clock with a large circle for the hours.

Say it is 4:27:18  - around the 4 hour mark there will be another lua circle, smaller, with "27" minutes showing ... it moves every minute and around the 27 another circle smaller with 18 seconds showing which moves to the next minute when it hits 0

Re: Conky v1.9 Thread

What the... why is this thread showing up as 9 stickies in Help & Support (Waldorf)?

I won't even ask what "sticky for a short while" is supposed to achieve.  tongue

Re: Conky v1.9 Thread

OMG!  Not a clue but probably some error on my part.

When conky v1.10 came on the scene I created:

Index » Tips, Tricks & Scripts » Conky v1.10 Thread (sticky for a short while)  - to deal with conky v1.10 specific problems - it's not the same as v1.9, it is LUA based and old conkys setups may not work (9 of my daily run 11 conkys do not work)

I then renamed: The New Monster Conky Thread which:
a. is no longer new
b. related to conky v1.9 and earlier.
to
Index » Tips, Tricks & Scripts » Conky v1.9 Thread (sticky for a short while)

The  (sticky for a short while) means just that "for a limited time so people can see there sre discussion for the two versions of conky.   By Friday I will unstick them and remove the (sticky for a short while).

Now how those 9 ended up in » Help & Support (Crunchbang 11 "Waldorf") I have no clue ...
and looking in:
    Index » Tips, Tricks & Scripts
there is a mess there too...  sad

I'll PM corenominal....

I'm soooooooooooooo sorry!

Re: Conky v1.9 Thread

I have a problem concerning the use of if_running, the problem is as follows;

${if_running banshee}1${else}0${endif}

gives always 0 regardless whether banshee is running or not. The problem started (iirc) when banshee updated and i noticed that ${top name X} would have the name "Main Thread" instead of "banshee" when banshee was the X top process.

If i use the terminal to get the pid of banshee, using:

pidof banshee

This returns the pid corresponding to "Main Thread" which i've checked using the top command, they match. But conky does not find banshee any more (so it seems).

Any thought on this (or even better, solutions)?

Re: Conky v1.9 Thread

Not that i'm aware of, my bash knowledge is fairly limited but running (found on the internet)

ps axo pid,ppid,pgrp,tty,tpgid,sess,comm |awk '$2==1' |awk '$1==$3'

Gives no sign of banshee

I've found something strange in ps aux though, it has (when i started banshee):

USER PID %CPU %MEM VSZ RSS TTY STAT START TIME COMMAND
user 12589  0.0  0.0  13908  2940 tty1     S    08:41   0:00 bash /usr/bin/banshee --redirect-log --play-enqueued
user 12595  1.4  1.9 1012240 116788 tty1   Sl   08:41   0:08 banshee /usr/lib/banshee/Banshee.exe --redirect-log --play-enqueued

12595 corresponds to the return value of the pidof banshee command. Note i start banshee by a shortcut in my menu (cinnamon).

Edit: if i close banshee both instances are gone in the ps aux output
