Re: Flash / No Sound

What repo is that from? I'm not showing anything in Synaptic...

EDIT: I found it in Squeeze, but it's only available for i386. I'm using 64-bit hmm

Re: Flash / No Sound

Are you using ALSA, PulseAudio, or something else?  Also, I found the package in sid (although it's still only for i386).

Re: Flash / No Sound

Then you honestly should not need that extrasound package.  Try running your browser from the command-line and see if there are any errors.

Re: Flash / No Sound

This is weird - I get the exact same errors (Chromium, right?), but my Flash audio works just fine (I'm using PulseAudio though, so...).  This is right after starting the browser, right?  How about when you play a Flash video?

Re: Flash / No Sound

OK - ran Google Chrome from the terminal (although I also have no sound in Firefox hmm ), and then hit a YouTube video:

ALSA lib pcm_dmix.c:1018:(snd_pcm_dmix_open) unable to open slave

Re: Flash / No Sound

Wait...do you have a media player or something open in the background?  That could be causing the problem.
