In response to another thread where it was asked what the minimum specs are for running #!CrunchBang, we thought it might be an idea to start a thread where people can post the specs of machines that #!CrunchBang is successfully running on.
I'll start things off with my laptop specs below. Feel free to modify the template to tell us about your machine. It's just a guide

Great idea, thanks omns
I have several systems which I am running CrunchBang on, I will try and post to this topic as and when I use them. Here is my first one:
Name: Acer Extensa 4220
Processor: Intel Celeron M 540 / 1.86 GHz, 533.0 MHz FSB, 1MB L2 cache
Screen: 14.1 in TFT active matrix, 1280 x 800 ( WXGA )
RAM: 1 GB DDR2 SDRAM
HDD: 80GB
Optical Drive: CD-RW / DVD-ROM combo - Integrated
Graphics: Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03)
Sound: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 03)

Other: 3 x USB2.0, Texas Instruments 5-in-1 Multimedia Card Reader (SD/MMC/MS/MS PRO/xD)
Comments: Also features Bluetooth, but not tested or used. The built-in Atheros wireless was a pain to configure, needed to download and compile madwifi from source. Everything else works nicely. CrunchBang runs snappily

Sweet, writing this from my old desktop machine that the rest of the family still use everyday. It's also our main data storage and backup machine. It's an old workhorse and still does a great job. Installed from a remastersys live cd created from my travelmate setup. I mainly created this because I didn't want to spend time setting things up again just the way I like. I guess that's what Remastersys is for

Hmm, in this part there's no good news. Some tweaking helped, but the system is still crawling really slow. Everything works, though, except for sound and 3D rendering. If you want to contribute to the fun of making this baby dance, please post your suggestions/notes here:
http://crunchbanglinux.org/forums/topic … ning-slow/
I really need some good advice in hardware and/or kernel compiling/tweaking.

Hi all,

Processor: Pentium II 366XT
Screen: 13.3" TFT
RAM: 128 SDRAM (updated later to 256MB, barely fits in)
HDD: 40 GB
Optical Drive: None - Just a gap
Other Drive: Floppy
Graphics: an on board dell one
Sound: an on board dell one
Network: Edimax USB G
Other: 1 x USB 2.0
Works good, a bit too much paging, so I added another 128MB ram and things were very noticeably faster
MP3 playing - not possible sound skips
Audio via YouTube & LastFM - interestingly the Audio via Flash 10 is perfect - no video on YouTube (far too jerky)
Had to install on a much better laptop then swap HD as there was no boot from CD or USB in the OLD OLD OLD Bios.

Network: Edimax USB G
Other: Mini PCI Atheros
Installed via USB CD, then used that to make my USB Pen live version.
All works perfect - not one quibble.
