It doesn't work after installing "pm-utils" ?
After that, "su -lc pm-suspend" should work.

Tried Viperr, and my advice: If you have a Realtek wireless card (like me), do NOT get this distro, as awesome as it is. Wifi doesn't work.

I have a Realtek RTL8185 sir.
And a lot of Realtek cards are supported.

Hello guys smile

Just FYI, instead of "flooding" here, if we have to talk about Viperr...

BTW I tried to find your theme for Viperr, but no such luck. Are there any public links to it or is it strictly for your distro only?

It is available from my repo : http://darthwound.org/viperr/repo/stable/
Just extract the RPM as a normal archive.

Of course, I don't restrict it to my distro, feel free to share (just credit Viperr) where you want man ^^
I don't work for Microsoft wink

FYI, Viperr02 stuff will be available in DeviantArt when this version will be released (in May).

EDIT : and the gtk3 is here : https://www.dropbox.com/s/ugofaqcpsramonh/v3f.zip

#10 Re: Help & Support (Testing/Unstable) » Upgraded r20111125 to testing » 2012-01-10 21:51:40

I'll test your themes and give you feedback.
Icons are Clarity Dark a bit modified for the apps (official Viperr 02 icon theme).

EDIT : works fine, I think that the issue is because you don't have "gtk3-engines-unico" installed (available in Testing and Unstable).

^ Thanks DarthWound, but I had that file. Even theme matching both gtk2 and gtk3.
When I switched my session to XFCE 4.8 with the same theme, there was no problem. But back in Openbox apps like gdebi, gedit, gnome games etc. were plain ugly. The solution to this as far as I know (aside from the file you mention) is to get rid of a few gnome apps like evince (can live without it) and nm-applet (that's a no-go).

No need to get rid of apps you like... http://pix.toile-libre.org/upload/origi … 224928.png

What is your theme ? I'll test it.

#12 Re: Help & Support (Testing/Unstable) » Upgraded r20111125 to testing » 2012-01-09 23:31:20

Hi there, I've found this topic because Viperr was mentioned smile

Stanie wrote:

(...)not to mention horrible looking gtk3 apps in openbox session. BTW no such trouble in xfce session with the same gtk2 and gtk3 ready themes like greybird or adwaita, but couldn't make it work properly in openbox hmm

You have to create this file : ~/.config/gtk-3.0/settings.ini

And add your prefs. For example :

[Settings]
gtk-theme-name = Viperr
gtk-application-prefer-dark-theme = false
gtk-font-name = Liberation Sans 10
gtk-icon-theme-name = Viperr
gtk-cursor-theme-name = ATER-grey
gtk-button-images = 0
gtk-menu-images = 0
gtk-auto-mnemonics = 0

Of course you'll need a gtk3 theme matching your gtk2.

A general link to the GLDT site.

I emailed them recently to indicate that #! is no longer Ubuntu-based, and they replied to say that had added a line down to Debian to indicate "rebasing", which is present in the latest version of the timeline (11.10).

I sent an email about this a long time ago this summer (you can see my name on his website), he replied that it was ok he changed that.

#14 Re: Help & Support (Crunchbang 11 "Waldorf") » [Solved] Openbox font rendering is different from other apps » 2012-01-04 03:40:14

OpenBox doesn't support some fonts rendering. Only a few are really smooth with it.
But I can see on your screenshot that even the Thunar fonts are not really beautiful.

On my CrunchBang the fonts were really ugly, I always use my own fonts.conf file, try it if it can helps a bit :

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<!DOCTYPE fontconfig SYSTEM "fonts.dtd">
<fontconfig>
 <match target="font">
  <edit mode="assign" name="hinting" >
   <bool>true</bool>
  </edit>
 </match>
 <match target="font">
  <edit mode="assign" name="hintstyle" >
   <const>hintfull</const>
  </edit>
 </match>
 <match target="font">
  <edit mode="assign" name="rgba" >
   <const>rgb</const>
  </edit>
 </match>
 <match target="font">
  <edit mode="assign" name="antialias" >
   <bool>true</bool>
  </edit>
 </match>
 <match target="font">
   <edit mode="assign" name="lcdfilter">
   <const>lcddefault</const>
   </edit>
 </match>
</fontconfig>

Edit : and you can also see in Xdefaults or Xresources file for something like this :

Xft.dpi: 96
Xft.antialias: true
Xft.hinting: true
Xft.rgba: rgb
Xft.autohint: false
Xft.hintstyle: hintfull
Xft.lcdfilter: lcdfilter

#22 Re: CrunchBang Talk » Crunchbang GTK3 theme? » 2011-12-23 22:03:30

Tunafish : I've changed the colors in order to match my Viperr gtk2 theme, if it is okay I'll include this in my next release smile

Thanks for your awesome work.

I just told to arpinux about that, he is making an english news page and updated wiki tonight, so expect that later this morning.

#24 Re: Off Topic / General Chat » Crunchbang like distro » 2011-12-22 20:25:34

Hi dudes smile

Yep, if you need to talk about Viperr, I'm available at the Distro-Hoppers topic smile
And if you don't want to pollute the forums, you can go to the french one if you want, as I'm the admin there's no problem big_smile (and we have a dedicated "alternatives" section).

Anyway, if you want to use a Debian base, CrunchBang stills the best ! Apt-pinning FTW ^^
Semplice doesn't have the #! charming spirit imho.
And Viperr is just here if someone prefers a Fedora base.

OBconf, just choose the letters order.
Viperr uses CMIL
