ok... I hope a new RAM will solve the problem. Will try it out!!
@ DAMO
yes, you are right!! The letters on my screen were changing. Its the reason for the difference in spelling.
Thanks for mentioning the correct code. Is there any potential solution for this problem?
Hi friends,
I was about to mark the post as "solved" since there was no problem or a few days. But I've noticed the following bug in the system. can anybody tell me the nature of the problem. The system freezes at the start, then there is a black screen with the following instructions:
[ 2.015447] BUG: unabld to handle Jesndl p'ginf request.
[ 2.015495] BUG: unabld to handle Jerndl NTLL pointer deference.
How to mark this topic as "SOLVED"?
It's a hard freeze. So I switch off the power supply and turn it on after some-time.
Thanks to everyone, for helping me out. I'll try out everything mentioned here and reply in a couple of days.
regarding RAM usage:
I'm not sure, but most of the time when I work it's around 248MiB/0.98GiB.
regarding SWAP:
Yes, I have SWAP. It shows 0B/1.98GiB.
and what is a live environment? Do you mean working on a live CD/USB? (If yes, then I'll try it out)
Regarding output of:
lspci -k | grep -iA5 vga
shows
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82945G/GZ Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 02)
Subsystem: Giga-byte Technology Device d000

00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation NM10/ICH7 Family High Definition Audio Controller (rev 01)

Hello friends,
I’m facing some problem with my computer. Can anyone help me regarding this?
problem:
System suddenly freezes. This occurs within 5-10 minutes of switching on the computer. I am able to see my work on the background, but no key or mouse works. This happens almost thrice a day.
system information:
OS: CrunchBang 11 Waldorf
system: HCL desktop, 32 bit, intel micro-processor (dual), 1GB RAM, 250 GB hard drive.
note:
I don’t use any fancy apps on my system. Just use for it basic browsing and spreadsheets. I have only one add-on in my Iceweasel.
Any help is appreciated!!!

niceeeeeeeeeee
I was looking for an OS to support my old desktop in our drawing room to do simple admin work. Ubuntu was flashy but, crashed many times. Then I decided that I needed an OS which did the following things without fuss:
1)word/spreadsheet etc. 2)stable browsing 3) simple media player to play videos 4)truly light weight distro which shows some mercy on RAM and is quick. 5) And an OS which doesnt crash 10 times in 10 daysssssss.
I read review of many distros... tried a few.... finally installed crunchbang. Its really simple, neat and works really well.
Hi, I'm saranya.
I am new to crunchbang, installed it on my desktop. To be honest, I was shocked for the first 20 minutes looking at the grey screen. But, the speed is amazing and it has no unnecessary apps and gets the job done. I have used ubuntu before. But, slowly I'm starting to like crunchbang. I hope this a good place to ask/share any doubts related to crunchbang.
