Philip and I wish everyone of our forum members a happy and healthy holiday season, and we hope that 2015 brings you everything you wish for.

Hi everyone, yes it was a DDOS attack which took us down for a few hours
The worst thing is of course that Corenominal doesn't even say hello to the community to tell them what he's thinking. News and updates are few and very very far between. ew made him come out of the closet many months ago, but then he only came out to ban ew. After ew was gone, so was Corenominal. If it wasn't for ew, Corenominal could have passed away a year ago for all we knew...
That's how absent he is, and if that's ok for you, then fine.
@ew (posing as common-sense; yes, we all know it is you), give it a rest please!
Feel free to go ahead and package up your own testing release of Jessie if you are so desperate for it. You are already assuming that anything that Philip releases will now be redundant and lack any genuine thought or idea, so why are you still here?
As to his lack of participation in the community (pointed out by you on numerous occasions), can you not understand why? Have a read back on some of your posts - would you want to interact with you?
No to the bank transfer.
Thank you to anyone and everyone who has ever made a DONATION - the amount we receive just about helps us keep the servers running and maintain ownership of the Crunchbang domain name through registration renewal.
Topic CLOSED!
^^ @#!_828 - I have just fallen in love with you a little bit!
You Sir, are my hero {)
Breaking news just in .... johnraff has also joined the moderator ranks. Welcome
It gives me great pleasure to announce some new additions to our forum moderating team .... Sector11 and Unia.
They were unanimously voted for by the existing mod team, and we are very grateful and excited that they accepted the offer to become moderators alongside pvsage, chilli, Larry, corenominal and myself.
Please join me in congratulations our 2 newest mod team members, and go gentle on them
Hi sgtbigman
May the crunch be with you too. Welcome to the forums
Haters gonna hate; believers gonna believe. Conspiracy theories everywhere! Don't believe the hype!
Yeah I used to mix mine up every couple of weeks, until it got "frozen" on something silly... if you can set it back to be random, that would be awesome!
I love your custom member title - it suits you
Yes, I read all the requests, but I am not currently pulling anything.
You "pull" me every night!
Seriously guys, Philip is still here working on CrunchBang, so please stop panicking and starting conspiracy theories.
He's been tinkering with his personal blog these last few months as he likes to keep things fresh by evolving his sites from time to time. It's his way of staying sane (or maybe it's his way of making sure that he's too busy to help out around the house!)
Philip's online persona is very similar to his real-life persona - he only speaks when it is necessary, and he doesn't indulge in idle chit chat or gossip. However, when he does have something to say, then you'd better sit down, pin your ears back and listen!
We are looking into the forum lag, please bear with us.

One bangers and beans coming up.
Would you like fried tomatoes with that?
No, I prefer chips with my sausage and beans
<snip> it's actually quite reassuring to see that he sets me straight. I really like that. I hope to see much more of it
Please don't provocatively or antagonistically post in these foums in the vain hope that my husband might reply to you to just "set you straight"; he's far too busy NOT updating CrunchBang, NOT developing the distro further and NOT participating or reading forum threads

Philip has done some modding to the forums and sign up process for new member, so hopefully there will be less spam for all!
If you do see any spammy posts or links, please continue to report them. Thanks.
Unfortunately there is no way to merge 2 separate accounts. However, I can reset the password on your original account and change the disposable email address to one of your choice so the password reset gets sent there. PM me the email address you would like to use.
Meanwhile, it looks like bobobex and I got in a fight earlier this morning over deleting posts from and responding to a report of a spammer; I'm guessing she'd just woke up, while I was just going to bed. (I usually sleep in two shifts.
) She got the first few posts and the report, I got the last few posts. Apparently El Jefe took care of the ones reported while I was asleep. 8o ¡Muchos gracias, Jefe!
Fight? I didn't even realise you were in the room!
Just to clarify: Moderators are able to ban spambots and delete their individual posts, but cannot delete the accounts themselves; Administrators are able to make the accounts themselves vanish.
@bobobex & corenominal: On the forum where I'm an admin, the forum owner has a policy of block/banning spammers, but not deleting the account; that way the spammers can't re-register with the same account name. Perhaps we should consider doing this?
Philip agrees with your idea, even though he knows it will kill me seeing all of those banned accounts in the user list!
Just to let you all know that I spend every night on a "seek and destroy" mission on here, flushing out the spam accounts. Every thread/post/user that you hit the Report button on, alerts us mods and we deal with it.
Philip and I are the only people with the ability to delete - we were once burned by a user who accessed a mod account and proceeded to try and delete the forums in their entirety. Luckily, Philip keeps a regular back up and the forums were restored save for a few hours of lost posts whilst we were asleep. Since this experience, Philip amended who can delete and what can be deleted.
Some of you on here must remember those heady days! Oh, how fun they were! NOT
Please keep reporting any spammy posts/links
Hi duncanmurray and welcome to Crunchbang forums. Glad you found us, and even more glad that you too supported Linux Voice.
Most government departments are still using systems running Windows XP, and only just upgrading their MS office suite to 2010
