I think that we should take things back to the basics. #! should be a (even more) simple, yet elegeant distro. When I say this, I mean stripping everything away except for the bare basics (window manager, desktop environment, file manager, etc.). Users should be able to install whatever application they may need. This eliminates the controversy of what applications to have by default and gives the user freedom of choice.
Sorry dkeg for the late response, but I get this error when running conky through terminal using the instructions you gave me,
me@me:~$ conky Conky: forked to background, pid is 10483 me@me:~$ Conky: desktop window (ab) is root window Conky: window type - desktop Conky: drawing to created window (0x3600001) Conky: drawing to double buffer File "/home/michael/bin/gmail.py", line 1 Version 110412 ^ SyntaxError: invalid syntax
So, I commented out all the version info and such (lines 1 through 4) and it still doesn't work. Any suggestions?
Hey guys! I'm new to #! and have already fell in love with it! I've been using Linux for about 2 (or so) years, and know the (coding) languages Ruby, and some Bash. I love the community and all the useful information on the forums. I look forward to being a part of this collaboration!
