to this ...
#(sleep 5s && killall xfce4-settings-helper) &

or launch xfce4-settings-helper and check if keyboard short-cuts work

on my laptop (dell inspirion 6400) the 2.6.39 kernel is as fast as liquorix (knock on the wood), the liqourix still causes 3 second "blank-out" when I resume from suspend to ram ... no such problems in 2.6.39 roll

thunar is 1.2.2 though ... but it doesn't help at all because xfce-power-manager falls and falls again ... gutted

@omns "native" means in stable ... (there are no stupid bugs, etc) (to my memory some debs from experimental resulted in (distributed for xubuntu in about xfce))
@ ivanovnegro ... good news ... time to test mint lxde and back to debian // xfce4.8 ... well something wrong with xfce-debian group website (according to http://pkg-xfce.alioth.debian.org/ it is still 4.6.2. in testing hmm )

This may interest you smile http://omnsproject.org/?p=1055

Thank you omns, but "native" support is preffered... that is why debian stable reminds me the 'old Slackware'
(aside new panel (with "group" icons) and thunar with gvfs support - nothing important to me)
(to be honest I've compiled the xfce4 from source the next day after release - quite buggy it was hmm )

I've used Fedora with Gnome3
tOTFyZA tOTFyZQ

I've re-tried KDE4 with Salix (I mean I love Slackware (my 1st distro), but I can't what the hell is going out - the night I've installed KDE version of SalixOS an interview came by "there're aint gonna be no further KDE 4.6 or 4.7")
what the hell
tOTFyaQ

So I've ended like this with XFCE-LMDE (4.8 is there with an Alphabetic Menu and other issues) - testing it right now

this wallpaper seems perfect for a "hidden" conky

have the clock in the wallpaper show the actual time for example,
have the dial on the radio move around in response to cpu usage
lots of possibilities big_smile

Yeah I see it but it damn too small ... though it worth trying
Thank you
