#16 Re: Introductions » #! fan! » 2014-05-16 01:40:48

Welcome DaveOxford...enjoy your stay.

As stated, Arch was not that hard to install, but you really have to pre-read the Beginners Guide and follow it closely. I did it with no problem. Ran Arch for a short while but that was it. Just wanted to see if I could do it.

But Gentoo...I draw'the line there lol

Best of luck. I've tried it a couple of times and realized " I cannot do this!". This coming from a guy who uses Slackware regularly and has instaled Arch on more than one occasion cool

#18 Re: CrunchBang Talk » Ah Back home to rest.. how I missed you Crunchbang ! » 2014-03-27 02:18:03

As with parties above, I do dabble in other distro-lands just to see what is out there.
However, I always seem to come back to rock solid quality right here cool

#19 Re: Introductions » back to #! after a world tour » 2014-03-27 02:14:12

Hey banger2014!

Welcome back to Linux "simplicity" - #!  cool

#20 Re: CrunchBang Talk » Why do you use #!Crunchbang » 2014-03-21 01:13:16

I continue to use it because it is awsome:

Debian Stable tweaked by corenominal
Stable...stable...stable
Amazing amount of packages in Debian repo
Openbox - lean & mean

What else could I want cool

#21 Re: Introductions » New to CrunchBang » 2014-03-18 01:25:00

Hi  jack66a....welcome to the neighborhood cool

#22 Re: Off Topic / General Chat » The Official #! Over-the-Hill-CrunchGang Thread » 2014-03-18 01:23:58

As the famous (I refer to it as "pain in the ass") statement goes "tide and time wait for no man". I"m "honorary/59" here but relate well.
Seems like yesterday I was a sleek lean & mean specimen. Mentaly I do envision myself as about 30-ish which is a good thing. I try not to take life too seriously, which I feel is key to my general well being at present.

#23 Re: Introductions » Greetings, Crunchbangers! » 2014-03-18 01:14:32

Welcome Endless_Nameless.

#! is a distro that will stay out of your way while giving you full functionality and stability. We're always here to
assist  cool

#24 Re: Introductions » Salutations, comrades! » 2014-03-13 01:18:50

Hi jdonaghy.

While I do dabble in the exciting "never know what will happen" sid side of Debian (most times without problem) my comfy zone is
without doubt #!.

Enjoy!

#25 Re: Help & Support (Crunchbang 11 "Waldorf") » To PAE or not to PAE » 2014-03-13 01:12:43

Yup, pae is the way to go. While you don't need it for memory, it does indeed benefit your cpu.
Happy @!-ing cool
