that also didn't help sad mad I think now i'll have to do it manually everytime i bootup. i once used that file to load something related to options module for 3g usb modem but now i use sakis 3g so i forgot everything. also the usb-modeswitch which is preloaded never worked for me. it only worked when i had my modem connected to usb before boot but surprisingly sakis 3g was able to switch it. anyways thats offtopic. thread is still unsolved (period)

#7 Re: Help & Support (Crunchbang 11 "Waldorf") » Broadcom Wlan » 2011-10-06 06:38:50

Oh I did that beforehand just after I installed the driver. That didn't help. Do you know the name of kernel startup script which loads the modules at startup? Adding the command to that might help. I once added a command to it but I forgot the name of that file!!!!

#8 Re: Help & Support (Crunchbang 11 "Waldorf") » Broadcom Wlan » 2011-10-06 06:11:31

hmm..... i added that line to the file but it didn't help. so i decided to run

ok! thanks! I configured my bcm4312 lpphy but the problem now is that that i have to run

 modprobe b43

every time i boot up. is it that the module (or device driver) not loading automatically? if so then how do i correct it?

#11 Re: Help & Support (Crunchbang 11 "Waldorf") » Broadcom Wlan » 2011-10-05 05:00:00

I think bcm4312 or probably any one of the bcm43xx. I don't remember exactly. Can I check it using any command?

i have pcmanfm and i can run it using run command.... but it isn't available anywhere in the menu. do you have any idea about how to make a shortcut in menu or set it as default file manager?

hey! my broadcom wlan isn't working in crunchbang. earlier it used to detect the available networks but not connect. then i installed all the drivers (broadcom-sta etc.) via synaptic but now it isn't even able to detect the available connections. which drivers should i install? i remember ubuntu had a proprietary driver which was listed in additional drivers. it worked perfect.

#19 Re: Help & Support (Crunchbang 11 "Waldorf") » nautilus elementary in crunchbang linux » 2011-10-03 04:17:19

actually i was asking that because thunar was having glitches in menubar with orta theme and i didn't wanna waste my bandwidth installing a crap file manager but i just fixed that. thank you all for helping. roll

#22 Re: Help & Support (Crunchbang 11 "Waldorf") » change default window manager » 2011-06-02 17:40:17

solved it. I selected save session automatically while logout with compiz running. but there's still a problem. conky disappears if I click on my desktop. it seems to be on a separate layer.

#23 Re: Help & Support (Crunchbang 11 "Waldorf") » change default window manager » 2011-06-02 14:46:53

I have already installed compiz and added that command to session and startup in settings menu but nothing happens.
