Autoloaded Applications

Hello everybody.

I've had a play with #! and it is now becoming my default distro. Thanks to everybody who made it possible.

A quick question, which I'm sure has a simple answer, but one that I'm too stupid to find: when I insert a cd/dvd, or click on am mp3 file, Totem autostarts, and when I click on an image file GIMP starts. Is it possible to stop this occuring? I would prefer that no action occurs for a cd/dvd/mp3, and I would like to change the program for an image file.

Any pointers would be gratefully received.

Thanks.

Re: Autoloaded Applications

to change the default program for a type of files, you just have to right-click on a file of the type and modify the "open with" in the properties of the file

Re: Autoloaded Applications

Hello again,

That's worked for the image files, thanks. But how do I stop ANY application opening when I insert a cd or dvd, or click on an mp3 file? I'm sure there's a config' file I can hack, but I don't know which one.

Apologies for my stupidity, but I'm still a 'newbie' at all this.

Regards

Re: Autoloaded Applications

If you use Thunar you can install the Volume Manager plugin and use that.
