Hullo. First-time Linux user here. Feeling the learning curve already, I think.
Feel free to tell me if I'm out of line... Is it possible to change the style (font, specifically) of the root-menu without changing the styles of other menu items?
I'm excited to learn, and I'm sorry in advance if I'm causing newbie-related grief to any of you lovely people.

Yes it is! 
Right-click -> Settings -> Openbox -> GUI conf something (not menu but the other one) -> Appearance -> Menu item.

Dang! I was under the impression that that would change any menu (e.g. the File or Edit menus within applications). I should have experimented a little more ambitiously. Thank you for such a prompt response!
