computer won't detect sansa clip mp3(on any system)

I own a rockboxed sansa clip+. Until recently it connected fine to any computer, but recently neither statler, ubuntu 10.10 nor xp could detect the device. I think the issue started after I filled the sansa full(there was about 900kb left) and after OF refused to boot because of that, and when connected to computer- it would be detected and then disappeared after a moment. Then I removed some of the files using rockbox firmware- without connecting the player and sansa remained invisible since.

I tried what is essentially the only advice on rockbox/sansa forums- switching usb modes, to no effect.

Any suggestions much appreciated...maybe formatting the player using OF?

edit: formatting didn't work hmm

Have you tried using Gparted to format the drive, or to see if it's even detected at all?

Re: computer won't detect sansa clip mp3(on any system)

I have. It doesn't appear in gparted either hmm
dmesg shows as follows:

[ 1571.656082] usb 2-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 5
[ 1572.072095] usb 2-1: device not accepting address 5, error -71
[ 1572.072133] hub 2-0:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 1

edit: also after charging up to ~65%(which takes abot 3x longer than before), the device starts discharging when still connected by usb. wtf?
