Firefox fonts washed out look

Can someone give me some advice on how to make the fonts on firefox sharper mad or advise me on my settings default font times new roman, proportional:serif, serif:times new roman,sans-serif:arial,monospace:courier new. Its just that most things look washed out difficult to read it would be nice if i could just get them to appear sharper.

try the droid fonts, those look nice and sharp. Or DejaVu book.
(for droid, you'll need to google a download).
