How to get eeepc-acpi-utilities? (about reinstalling my 1000H)

Hi All!

In a very short time I'm going to reinstall my 1000HE (recover from DVD) since my windows install is starting to act up on me (I do not remember having to wait 3 minutes for windows to load after boot). This of course mean that I will loose my installation of Chrunchbang as well, which is no problem in in self since that is a very speedy and painless process.

My problem comes when I want to add that little "extra" for making my netbook run as good as possible. Adding eeepc-acpi-utilities is one part of the process.

-Yes, I know - at a first glance this is a very easy question to answer - just add the necessary repositories and search for the apps using the package manager...

But - it seems like fewt - who is behind these utilities - has "closed down shop" just a day or two ago. This also mean that I get errors about finding his repositories when I do an update in my package manager.

Now - since I am a very fresh user of any kind of linux-based OS I have no idea on how to solve this. Can I find these utilities somewhere else? Or can I retrieve them from my present installation and save them on a memorystick somewhere for the reinstall?

An alternative question could be whether or not it's possible to back up my chrunchback partitions and later restore them on my "fresh" drive? I assume I will loose my bootloader in the "restore windows from dvd-process, so how difficult is it for a beginner to fix that? (e.g. reinstall bootloader)

Does anyone have some good recommendations on how to proceed?
(preferably on how to find/retrieve the eeepc-acpi-utilities and it's dependencies)

Thanks in advance,
/gosa

Sourceforge hosting of fewt's utilities: http://sourceforge.net/projects/eeepc-acpi-util/

I'm kinda in the same boat since Windows 7 doesn't currently like my upgrade license . . .

Thanks a lot for that link!

Got it downloaded and saved in 5 different places just to make sure...

Another question:

Will the install of these scripts take care of stuff like dependencies automatically, or do  I have to do that myself?
