If you are like me, and spent hours trying to get lua rings working in conky on crunch bang, then follow these steps.
1.Remove conky "sudo apt-get remove conky"
2.Go here: https://launchpad.net/~norsetto/+archive/ppa/+packages
3.Download the conky 1.7.2 appropriate for your system, ex: conky-all_1.7.2-0ubuntu6~jaunty1_i386.deb
4. Install with sudo dpkg --install "your conky .deb file here"
5.Thank Bruce M. http://ubuntu-virginia.ubuntuforums.org … &page=1056

What I did was
- go to https://launchpad.net/~norsetto/+archive/ppa
- copied
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/norsetto/ppa/ubuntu jaunty main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/norsetto/ppa/ubuntu jaunty mainto /etc/apt/sources.list
- followed the instructions here: https://launchpad.net/+help/soyuz/ppa-sources-list.html (Telling Ubuntu how to authenticate the PPA)
- sudo apt-get update
- sudo apt-get install conky-all
This way, when there is an update for conky (and it is added to the norsetto repository), your conky will automatically be updated during a system-update
oh yeah? well, your momma dresses you funny and you need a mouse to delete files
