Maybe wrong forum...but.. how to tailor colours, etc., in sig?[SOLVED]

It can be done but how?  If I 

[color=black]...signature...[/color]

I get the [] stuff showing up
And how to add icons,etc.?

I hope you do not mind, but I have modified your signature so as to indicate how colours work. Regarding icons and images, these have been disabled within signatures to help minimise forum load times.

And if you want custom colors, you can use hex codes:

[color=#333333]text[/color]
