Yep, you guessed it. New Linux user. Had a old laptop that had crappy XP on. XP was shot, not showing icons, blah blah blah. Loaded Crunchbang and got the use of the computer back. I'm wanting to set it up to run Minecraft for my son. Having some issues. I've downloaded the Minecraft.jar file, and then I'm stuck. I know I'm needing Java, but I can't seem to get it downloaded.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Mr_Scrogg,
If your Laptop is old, chances are it won't work at all. Minecraft needs a lot of ram and stuff, doesn't run on my laptop. But installing java should be easy, on crunchbang there is the 'cb-welcome' script that can do it for you (type 'cb-welcome' into the console, when asked choose to show more options) or you can install the package 'openjdk-7-jre' using apt or the synaptic package manager.

Thanks for the reply. I forgot to do that command, as I didn't want this computer online due to it being used by my son. Doing the Welcome pack now.
