When I installed #! some months ago, my Canon mg6220 printer worked. I do not print often, but needed to print today. An error showed up in the print area of my editor telling me the printer was in 'failed' state whatever that means.
I went into cups and everything looked ok. Cups saw the printer and saw the print job, which it showed as paused. Telling cups to allow printing was refused. So were most of the other cups commands I tried.
I searched the net, and found some simple, and some very complicated 'fixes'. As I am lazy, I tried the obvious. I deleted the printer under the menu -> system -> printers. Then I added the printer again. Problem solved. Hope this helps someone else with their printer issues.
Just because you are paranoid, it doen't mean they are not out to get you
