Crunchbang freezes after power off?

Before I install AwesomeWM, I can power off fine, but after i install AwesomeWM and I power off it freezes when I get to the login manager, I can't move my mouse, or type with the keyboard. I deleted slim and just used startx, and i can get to the gui, but once again everything is frozen. I've had to reinstall crunchbang 5-6 times and this is getting really annoying. I disconnected UBS's, and turned off the wifi before startup and the problem persists.

Re: Crunchbang freezes after power off?

have you researched your problem in any way?
i saw you had some other threads here but i didn't read them all - what's your setup, what other problems did you encounter, could there be a connection, what were the results of your searches and what did you try yourself?

...most probably something is keeping your linux from letting go - some process maybe - or linux can't get a handle on your hardware (i think acpi is a common word here).

anyhow, it is your tedious task to provide us with something that will enable us to help you.

My setup right now is Crunchbang running on AwesomeWM. Other issues I ran into was just keybindings being setup incorrectly. I tried doing "acpi=off" in my grub config but that didn't work. I've managed to stay with the same setup by using the suspend button.
