[SOLVED]GRUB won't run

I had a spare 500 GB MAXTOR drive so i decided to  install #! on it so i could dualboot it with Win7 before maybe taking the plunge into running Linux exclusivly.. so i installed it, set up my partition on the spare drive, it asked to install GRUB on SDA, i said yes, but when i rebooted my pc post install it just booted straight into Windows.. can i find out what i did wrong and how to fix it somehow?

The other times i've installed #! it has been a clean install from scratch on old laptops that weren't fit to run anything else and not a dualboot and i am slightly freaking terrified of wiping  Win7 on my main rig due to a fuckup on my part.. halp!

Re: [SOLVED]GRUB won't run

Your BIOS will be set to boot from the original HDD, you'll have go to your boot menu to set it to boot from the #! HDD.

I'm not sure if grub will find OS's on different hdds though.

+1. It should find them; this is usually no problem.

I can verify that it finds all OS's on your PC.. if you install it to the correct drive, which i hadn't done.. once i actually put GRUB on the drive i had intended on booting instead of just assuming that my SSD was drive SDA it worked out great.. so mystery solved, onto the next problem then, but i will see if i can solve that using my brainhole and some google-fu before starting to beg for help on the forums.
