Re: [SOLVED] installation fail / grub-pc

To switch between US/GB layouts when running Live, just click the icon in the systray (top right)

Use sudo dpkg-reconfigure locales, and then sudo dpgk-reconfigure keyboard-configuration for the keyboard

You can try installing grub using this method: How to chroot into #! on disk when you can not boot via grub, but I'm not sure how that would work with a failed installation

Re: [SOLVED] installation fail / grub-pc

thank you for the answer.
I have an IT keyboard, and by default is not present in the distro. I tryed with the command you suggest but failed.

I tryed also to follow the guide in the link, but failed.
I saw that there is a problem if we attempt to do the installation with italian language. So I tryed the english but failed again.
In the same time I was not able to find proper info about this problem, so I open this topic.
I was using multisystem for make the install USB. That didn't work.
Had a Ubuntu live cd, and with that I download again the #! iso and did the USB following this guide how to prepare an ISO to USB. Install the english version and it WORKS !

I didn't follow the guide about how to prepare and iso to USB because I already know how. there are many programs that can do that.
I think that it would be better if on the download page is clearly write that the USB must be create using that method.

sorry for open a post for a known problem !

On the downloads page it says

When your download has finished, you might like to take a look at the How To prepare an ISO to USB - Linux & Windows Instructions. If you experience any issues, just ask on the forums. Happy CrunchBangin'!

Glad you got it sorted out smile

sorry, I'm italian with a no good english, reading that I understand that if I need to know how to create a bootable USB I can go that link... but I know already how to create a bootable USB (but didn't know that with #! the traditional way is not working).

BTW thank you for the support !!! now I can start to learn how to use this minimal distro, I'm not very confident with terminal line and non-graphic environment but I would like to improve big_smile
