Conky disappears at seemingly random times

Ever since I added this snippet to my .conkyrc, conky vanishes at random times and stays vanished until restarted:

W E B S I T E    I N F O
${hr}
Users Online:$alignr${curl http://localhost/onlineusers.php 5}
Online Today:$alignr${curl http://localhost/onlinetoday.php 10}
Last Post By:$alignr${curl http://localhost/recentactive.php 5}
User Activity:$alignr${curl http://localhost/pph.php 20}
Personal Activity:$alignr${curl http://localhost/pph.php?ppd&id=3 30}

I'm not sure what might be causing it with this code, but a similar effect can be produced if curl is told to get a page that returns a HTTP 500 error. Whether or not there's actual page content to go along with the error seems to make no difference.

Re: Conky disappears at seemingly random times

I don't have time to search this, but where you have ${curl ...}, shouldn't it be ${execi <time interval> curl ...} ?

Re: Conky disappears at seemingly random times

I was browsing through a list of conky objects and saw a curl object, so I've been using that, but I'll see if using execi makes any difference. Thanks for the suggestion.

Ask your question in the main conky thread; lost of people using curl in their conkyrc files can probably give you an answer.

Re: Conky disappears at seemingly random times

Okay, thanks. I hadn't realized that the monster thread was also good for getting support. It's amazing what you can learn from a thread by reading the first post. tongue

Although, I'm not sure what I should do with this thread now if I'm going to the other thread for help.

I'm not sure I understand why all the support has to go in there. It makes it hard to find answers easily by searching.

Anyway, I switched to using texeci instead of curl like cloverskull suggested, and so far conky has remained on my desktop where it belongs.
