So I ran into a problem by accidentally moving files from my / directory to my home directory, and once I caught it and moved them back where they should be all of the permissions were screwed up. I've managed to fix everything but this doggone application chooser. When I try to open a file that doesn't have a default application for the mimetype it prompts me to select an application to use, but the list is completely blank. I'm driving myself crazy trying to figure out what controls this dialogue so I can get the permissions changed. See the screenshot if my description isn't clear. Thanks.

Hmmm. I was hoping someone might have an idea what happened here. I shall continue digging on other forums and post the solution once I've figured this out.
