Changing screen resolution

I can't figure out how to set my screen resolution to 1920x1080?  Also, will I be able to install ATI catalyst software for my Radeon HD 4670 card?  Thanks!

Re: Changing screen resolution

arandr is a great gui option.
otherwise from the term use xrandr:

xrandr --output LVDS1 --mode 1920x1080
