Mathematica uses some ugly generic windows ui settings

I figured I might as well ask this too, while I'm at it.
See the image below

Mathematica doesn't use the clearlooks window setting that I use, while I'm pretty sure it should.

I couldn't find anything on google and I have no idea how to fix this. I did check the options in Mathematica itself, though, to no avail.

Re: Mathematica uses some ugly generic windows ui settings

Is it a Qt4 app? Use qtconfig to change the theme of qt apps.

I'm so meta, even this acronym

Re: Mathematica uses some ugly generic windows ui settings

As far as I can check, it is indeed a qt application.

Changing the GUI Style in qtconfig to "Desktop Settings" does help a little. It has corrected the color. The bar menu bar still looks oversized, though, as does the font. Changing that in qtconfig doesn't seem to help.

Re: Mathematica uses some ugly generic windows ui settings

Have you tried changing the QT theme to "GTK+"?

Re: Mathematica uses some ugly generic windows ui settings

Setting the theme to GTK+ makes no difference. It's even worse than Desktop Settings, because the color reverts back to the dull grey.
