Howdy.
Exploring using the command line atm, but i can't get an ip address from my campus' network. i get this from dhclient --> "No working leases in persistent database - sleeping"
I don't have any problems however, in GUI.
Looking for advice - and if you have the time - an explanation as to what the problem is. Much thanks =p

if it is a wireless network you will have to do some additional configuration of the wireless before you can get an IP, not sure if you have set any of that up already. Heres a post about some similar issues http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=264614 it's not a step-by-step guide or anything but hopefully it will point you in the right direction.

oh, i did these prior
sudo iwlist ra0 scan
sudo iwconfig ra0 essid NUSOPEN
sudo dhclient
what did i miss?

maybe try
sudo dhclient ra0
just something to try. Other than that it looks like everything is right if it's an open network.
