Re: calculator on crunchi

Hi fahimi,
As far as I remember, #! comes with a calculator installed by default, check under "OB Menu -> Office", alternatively hit Alt-F2 and type galculator [enter].

Re: calculator on crunchi

One could also use Python in interactive mode, just type 'python3.2' to get in (and ctrl+d to get out);

└─$ python3.2
Python 3.2.3 (default, Feb 20 2013, 14:44:27)
[GCC 4.7.2] on linux2
Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information.

2.7142857142857144
>>> _*1212

>>>

p.s. Optional, add "alias calc='python3.2'" to your .bash_aliases

Re: calculator on crunchi

xcalc and galculator are pre-installed. personally, i would just keep one, and get rid of the other. we need to remove some bloat from #!

leaner code is cleaner code is more efficient code

Re: calculator on crunchi

josephg: Which one is bloat? xcalc comes with x11-apps, which is part of X Window System. It is compact but quite limited compared to galculator.

(One can replace both with xabacus, of course.)

Re: calculator on crunchi

My personal favorite is speedcrunch, which has s lot of features that galculator and xcalc don't have. Maybe this is what you looking for.

Re: calculator on crunchi

I didn't know about Speedcrunch before; it goes to my math tool list straight away.
