not booting

hey guys, so i've had #! set up for about a month or two. yesterday i went to boot into and got past grub and got the black (back-lit) screen. before this had happened i'd already changed the default grub to read nomodeset radeon.modeset=0, so that issue is ruled out

Re: not booting

Re: not booting

Did you perform a recent apt-get distro upgrade or aptitude full-upgrade?  If so, did those upgrades install updated xserver packages?  If yes, then that might be the issue.  Also, I know a kernel update has been released, so if you installed that then that might also be an issue.

I have a laptop that has a legacy AMD GPU and I've had plenty of issues running Sid on it.  I also run CrunchBang with backports enabled and a recent xserver update is not playing well with the legacy proprietary AMD driver.  I'm not able to boot my backports partition at all.
