Hello,
I have recently installed Crunchbang Linux 11 on my Sony Vaio PCG-5G3L laptop. After installing, I ran the post installation script and updated my system but after rebooting and logging back in all that would appear was my cursor which was a white outlined black X. I am assuming that this is some sort of issue with a graphics driver. I would like to know how to fix this.

Hi, Welcome aboard!
please see # http://crunchbang.org/forums/viewtopic.php?id=29650
basically , what you need to do is :
Switch to a Virtual Console by pressing ALT+CTRL+F2 , login and first thing you need to do is disable the #! repos from your sources.list
# then run :
sudo apt-get update
sudo dpkg -reconfigure -a
sudo apt-get --fix-missing install
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get -f install
sudo apt-get autoclean
sudo apt-get autoremove -f
sudo apt-get reboot

Can I ask how he managed to fix the problem when "sudo dpkg -reconfigure -a" is not a command that works and "sudo apt-get reboot" is also not a command?
