Hello everybody!

Hello!

I'm new here, just installed #! a few minutes ago: all went smoothly, so for now I'm pretty pleased with it. I especially like its aesthetics (one of the reasons I abandonned my previous distro, Lubuntu), and I also wanted to try a Debian based distro for a change.

I'm not an advanced Linux user, but I'm eager to learn some new tricks, and I'm sure the #! forum will allow me just that!

Re: Hello everybody!

Welcome to the show Zarath.  You've chosen the right distro and definitely chosen the right forum to learn.  I'm also new and I have learnt a huge amount from the great Crunchbanging community.  I found this "things to do after installing..." site really helpful in getting my head around Crunchbang.  http://debianhelp.wordpress.com/2012/10 … wheezy-os/.  The firewall set up is a bit vicious so I suggest the default values as good starting point.  Remember to backup any scripts before you work on them.  I hope this helps.  Have fun  smile !
