Well.... I've had a long night in front of the computer which I hadn't planned for. I decided to get rid of my mint 14 install and go back to the relative safety of Ubuntu more to see how the folks at Canonical have been polishing their distro of late.....Anyway to cut a long story short I couldn't get the damn thing to boot up after install. Always kernel panic, blah blah blah, tried many fixes but none worked so I started looking for an alternative. I've always been interested to try Crunchbang as I've dabbled with openbox in the past so after 1 hour including download time I'm up and running typing this from my new #! install (including broadcom wireless working too, thanks debian wiki !!).
Anyway just wanted to say hello to all and thanks for the no BS distribution. It's working very well thus far.
Your story sounds familiar to me. I made the same steps to find #!, and I am very happy with this distro and this forum.
Glad you got your rig up and running! Welcome to #! jb_888!
The title of this thread made me laugh aloud: It sounds like you downloaded an Ubuntu ISO and ended up with CrunchBang
Nevertheless, welcome to CrunchBang, jb_888, and hope you enjoy the distro.
