[SOLVED] MonoDevelop + monogame

Hi all, first post here.

First of all, I've tried other Linux distros but never seemed to get that special feeling.
But CrunchBang, wow. Love it.

Anyway.

Im trying to install monogame (game programming framework simmilar to XNA) with monodevelop and I'm wondering what way is the best way to install it.

Is the version in the synaptic packet manager the most current one, or does someone suggest another way of installing it.

Thank you!

Re: [SOLVED] MonoDevelop + monogame

^ Since CrunchBang Stable (currently Waldorf) is based on Debian Stable, most packages you'll find via APT (apt-cache, aptitude, Synaptic) are going to be several months old at the time of the Stable release due to the pre-release "freeze" shakedown; the only updates you'll get after that point are bugfixes and security patches.  You could search the forum (magnifying glass in the top right corner of every page) for threads on apt pinning, which will walk you through the process of adding repos that have more recent packages and pinning them to minimize borkage; you'd probably want to look at the Unstable, Experimental, and Backports repos and see which one has the most recent version.  (Different repos have different packages sooner than others; since Mono is non-free and presumably a dependency of monodevelop, I'd guess that it would be slow getting into Backports.)

EDIT:  I see this is your first post in these forums.  Welcome to Club#!!
